Which high-current connections should be ordered?

Investing in infrastructure is not only associated with a high level of responsibility. It is also about big money that is intended for the implementation of projects such as power plants or transformer stations.
It is therefore not without importance which high-current connections we use to compensate for oscillations. And exactly what materials we use, what quality of raw materials and what know-how when carrying out certain orders.
The connection provider is responsible for what it delivers because these are sensitive infrastructure components that connect transformers and power transmission lines. Poor quality material or poor workmanship can be the reason for the serious failure of the entire investment. In addition, there is a risk of fire for people and equipment. .

Copper quality in flexible high-current connections

Copper is the primary material for electrical wiring because it has the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of all base metals. The annealed copper standard in connection with electrical conductivity is determined as a percentage in the IACS (International Association of Classification Societies) and is usually 100% IACS.

For high-current connections, such as fabric tapes or expansion tapes, KUVER GmbH always uses the highest quality material intended for electrical installation, whose parameters exceed 102% IACS.

The material used for KUVER flexible connections was manufactured in European steel mills and is grade CW004A or according to DIN: E-Cu 57/58 (ISO: Cu-ETP). Not without importance is the fact that each type of material has its own numbering and a corresponding quality certificate issued by the manufacturer of this raw material.

The hardening level is selected depending on the intended use or the customer's requirements, which specifies which copper to use for the production of specific high-current connections.

What types of copper do we use in flexible connections? Why European copper?

The quality of the copper produced in our domestic smelting works is based on experience and a responsible production process. Its stable quality is regulated by DIN ISO 9001 as well as DIN ISO 18000 (occupational safety) and DIN ISO 140001 (environmental protection), which often form an integrated quality management system for copper products in European smelters.

Responsibility for the environment

Oxygen-free copper products manufactured in European smelters are manufactured to have the least impact on the environment. You save media, reduce the consumption of water and electricity, and control the resulting waste.

For the company KUVER-GmbH, a manufacturer of high-current connections, it is not insignificant that the proximity of the raw material manufacturer makes it possible to check certain quality aspects directly at the manufacturer. Products from European steel mills are also subject to audits by their customers and by the certifying companies.

That's why we choose copper raw materials from domestic manufacturers rather than products from other regions of the world, which are difficult to verify due to the distance.

Not without importance is the fact of timely delivery, which does not depend so much on the distance of the raw material.

Certified raw material in high current connections

High-current connections from KUVER GmbH are not only certified expansion bands or fabric bands but also clamps in the connections, which are made from special sleeves in accordance with our parameters in the steelworks. The whole thing is based on Cu-ETP-Copper

The process for the qualitative production of high-current connections

The production of connections is based on our own know-how, which is stored in production processes for testing by auditors - our customers. All processes are connected by the ERP-SAP system, which supports our sales, warehouse and production departments.

The connections must be repeatable so that our customers are not surprised, which is why production manuals are created, which are available directly from the SAP system to the production manager. All this so that the process can be recreated in the same way every time.

All high-current connections also have a galvanization certificate.

Both copper strips and ferrules can be tin-plated, and the ferrules can even be silver-plated. The number of tin and silver microns is specified by the customer, although we standard tin plating to 12 microns and silver plating to 5 microns. Each of these processes takes place in a specialized electroplating factory equipped with appropriate facilities for electroplating connections and, above all, with appropriate facilities for checking the quality of the coating.

We always deliver tin-plated, silver-plated or nickel-plated high-current connections from KUVER GmbH with a coating quality certificate from electroplating companies that have modern, galvanic layer thickness measuring devices, such as HELMUT FISCHER FISCHERSCOPE X-RAY XDL.

It is worth purchasing flexible high-current connections from verified suppliers who can provide reliable certificates for the products offered, and create them based on standards and using production planning and business software.
